The Apprentice Technician of the Year Award is awarded to an individual who has demonstrated advanced ability as they undergo their apprenticeship in a discipline related to heavy vehicle service or repair.
The Apprentice Technician of the Year directly replaces the National Apprentice of the Year award, honouring final-year and graduating technicians working across the heavy vehicle industry for dealerships, OEM’s, operators and other HVIA member companies.
***All nominees will also be considered for the new Heavy Vehicle Apprentice of the Year Award***
Thanks to HVIA Principal Partner and the HVIA National Awards major sponsor National Transport Insurance and TruckAssist, winners of the three apprentice award categories will each win a hosted VIP experience at the Gold Coast 500 Supercars event.
- After the initial nomination is assessed by judges, every nominee in the apprentice categories will be asked to sit a thirty-minute online quiz. This exam has been prepared by TAFE Queensland as part of the assessment of nominees.
- Finalists will also be asked to participate in an online interview (10-15 minutes) as the final part of the adjudication process.
